I just want to say that I heard the Olympos album. I love the album. I dun see why some people dun like it. I'm not sure what they were expecting, were they expecting Jin more in the vein of JE? it seemed to be influenced by indie rock and I was honestly quite impressed ( Read more... )

i think Olympos is a wonderful representation of.. you know.. "age of the bands". indie bands and the type of music they produce - either you love it or you hate it. I mean, LANDS might have been one of those band which had a "firework-like" (short but brilliant) existence.

*coughs* sorry, i'm rambling again. hahaha.

i think Olympos is a wonderful album. One of the most beautiful music arrangements. :D Personal favourite is 元気 perfect issue & 二十歳の戦争 too. Can't wait to catch the movie next week.

Anyway, i just realised i haven't got the DVD from you.(-_-|||) Meetup when i come back? Sorry!

Yes! It's totally different from the typical JE or even Jin music (i.e. justin timberlake-ish dance tracks). In fact, i'm very impressed with how Kobayashi crafted this album.

You should try to listen to 鼓動 too. The drums and guitar solos are so good. :D

it's nice to hear some songs where his voice isn't too overly distorted for a change. I feel so proud of him tho, cos so few pple in JE have this chance and he did something with it. ><

I have been repeating the few songs I love so I haven't listened that much to the others yet.

There are people who didn't like it??? All I've seen so far are raving reviews.

I have it on replay since I've downloaded it. Makes me really want to buy it now, but am so broke.
I think it's perfect for the movie. There's definitely this raw quality to it, almost as if they recorded it in a garage. It's so refreshing and I love the variety in it too; like the songs each portray a different mood.

二十歳の戦争,元気,勇気 are definite favorites.

I feel the same about Jin as you do. But he looks so much happier these days, which I absolutely adore.

really, that's nice. I've seen a few comments abt how they were expecting something else.

I thought this might be the best work he has done. yeah u're right, there's this raw quality to it and his voice sounds so unblemished.

haha with Jin u alwis know whether he's happy or down, it's sorta written on his face. There was this period where he looked so down but now it's better. and he's so cute when he's being happy and playful. XDD I think it's cos he finally has some individual work of his own. :))

Johnnys should venture more into the rock scene. While they play w/'instruments' it still comes out as very pop. lol! So you're right, gotta give Jin mucho respect for stepping out of it. I've been getting the impression that he doesn't really like the Johnny-kind-of-music anywayyy :p

yeah u're right. JE music all have the same 'feel' to them and Jin's album is a welcome change. No I dun think he likes the JE type of music either, actually he seems quite influenced by western music.

I wasn't used to Olympos at first and thought some of the songs were out of Jin's vocal range, resulting in him sounding weak and strained in some parts.

Then after listening carefully (the difference between hearing it through headphones and through one's computer speakers can make quite a difference) the album grew on me... now I'm hooked. *_* It isn't your typical JE fare but feels nostalgic (lost era music?). I can actually hear how much emotion Jin put into the songs, Think my fav is 二十歳の戦争! Just last night Genki perfect issue ver. had me going all 0_o over when I realized how he could sing those low notes so well.

What can I say, Kobayashi-san really is a genius. ;Dv Those who didn't like it at first listen should definitely give it a few more tries.

For once Jin isn't straining to hit the high notes. XD Anyway I thought he sounded great.

Some of the other songs prob need a few more listens but yeap it grows on u. And like u said, u can actually hear the emotions on Jin's part and it's nice like he's trying to express something, which is not something u alwis get with JE songs. :P

actually I wasn't too impressed with Kobayashi when I first heard Bandage but this album is good. *___*

I AH-DORE, J'ADORE, AH-DORE OLYMPOS ♥
Then again I may be biased when it comes to Jin lol

My favourites are Hatachi no Sensou and Genki, ska version! *flails*

I seriously think BANDAGE will be a good movie.
Seeing all the previews of the DV scenes make me so excited for the movie lol 8D
