I came to your journal from your post in fragment_icons. I just wanted to say that your story is awesome and your baby is beautiful. His hair is too cute!
I'm a NCer as well...I live in Winston Salem, not too far away.
Thank you so much! I couldn't have imagined any other birth - I'm so glad to have gotten the one I wanted. To a T! I haven't been up that way in AWHILE. My sister lives in Greensboro; and I have friends in Asheville and stuff. I can't even remember the last time I was actually IN WS; and not just passing through haha. I always talk about hating it here; but its pretty nice.
I gave birth in a birthing center; Carolina Waterbirth in Greenville, SC. Their site has lots of interesting facts; and they put pictures of the new babies up!
I remember someone posted that "water births are nasty" but lemme tell you; EVERY birth is; and I came out pretty clean. Hell I didn't shower until the day after. There's always a chance you'll piss or shit yourself (lol) but the midwives have nets to catch anything like that in the water. I didn't do either; but thats probably because I took castor oil and really wiped myself clean earlier that day/the night before.
We look a lot better now that we're more rested and I've lost some more weight lol. I went from 180 (I'm 6'1) to 270 when I was pregnant and now I'm at 240.
Is it weird that seeing this makes me want to friend you? Haha. Not really in a disgusting way, but mainly because I see you in a lot of LJ places & I just.. wow. I'm amazed! Plus you posted it online so I'm wowed :) Anywayyy, friends? :P
I love reading birth stories so don't mind me =x. But I can't believe you did a water birth! That's what I'm doing too :). I'm due in (I think) 10 days. Please tell meee how was it. I mean I read the story but, is it something you would do again?
Haha wow everyone is due around the same time! But yes, after doing it at the birthing center I could not imagine doing it any other way!! Yes, it hurts, I won't lie.. but everything is just so much more... relaxing? And the people are in no rush to make you pop out your baby.. and you won't be forced into a c-section or any crap like that!
oh wow....just wow! that is amazing shit right there. i found you off of ashleys friends list (hearties). i was forced into a c-section with mine...i wanted to do vaginal but the doctor insisted c-section because he had a lil heart murmur that last 2 days. i could NEVER do what you did that. i give you so much CREDIT for doing that. omg. you're one brave girl for dealing with that pain cause probably 10 mins into pushing i would have said gimme a pain killer. i cant take pain very well. my boyfriends hands or legs would have been badly bruised or something. haha. but yeah i give a lot of credit...damn. beautiful little boy as well!!! love that platinum blond hair!!!! while i'm here, may i add you?
I have a few friends who had to have C-Sections which was the main reason I didn't want to have a hospital birth haha. I HATE doctors and needles and all of that shit.. the water really wasn't that bad at all! I'm not really adding people but I'll give you a shot :)
