A Moment...

In my Short Froms in Film and Video  we watched a series of shorts that were produced for Cannes. They all had to deal with a "moment". We were assigned to come up with our own "moments". Here's what I was working on:

A moment for forgotten love

The setting of the scene is in a King size bed, at night. The couple in the bed lay on opposite sides of the bed, facing away from one another. They use the same bed sheet, but the sheet lays flat in between them, showing their distance. It is late at night and the room is dark, except for the light from the moon. The man is asleep while the girl lays awake. She is studying a picture she holds in one hand. The picture is of the couple, hugging and smiling.  The girls face is distraught and she is crying. As she wipes her tears, she feels an arm wrap around her. She turns slightly to see that her partner has rolled closer to embrace her, while still sleeping. She turns back to the picture and smiles, as a new stream of tears flow down her cheek. She puts the photo under her pillow and gets closer into her lover’s arms, finally able to fall asleep.

I was hoping to show how the distance has grown between them. The girl holds the picture, and is crying because the distance that has grown between them. By the man embracing her in his sleep, he is subconciously reaching to be closer to her. She feels that this is a reassurance that he still loves her.  I know this is short but I would love to direct it! It would work as a Production I film because there's not much sound needed (although I'm sure I could do something rythmically with their breathing and her crying), but but I think that I could use color effectively in this scene.
