Why do we believe anything science says? Scietists once thought that the sun revoloved around the earth - through scientific research, they came to this conclusion. It's almost laughable at how heavily we rely on science when, when you think about it - all of these incredibly concrete beliefs will most likely, eventually change. Who says that ( Read more... )

i guess you could apply this same reasoning to your religion stance.
I think if you take your quote
"Everything is presented as fact - that's it. No on aknowledges that, 'hey - we might be wrong, we have been in the past - continually' "
and apply it to catholicism, it is very similar. For instance, people regard the teachings of the bible as fact and don't take the time to examine other alternatives...like hey catholicism could be wrong? Just a thought... a jumbled up thought but a thought nonetheless.

I finished my electoral reform paper....did you finish your damn book yet!

Yes I see your point. That's why I think it's important to go above and beyond the limited information you get, learn on your own, and form your own opinion from there.
