slide out of your skin and let me in

I needed to get the sun on my face today. I walked three or four miles via the cuts, down to Aston Science Park and turning off towards Digbeth. Catkins out, red deadnettle and gorse in flower; a Paul Nash-ish daymoon in the sky. There's a certain music to bridges: the slop and lap of the canal after a boat has passed, water dripping from a brick ( Read more... )

I don't know if I have ever mentioned that I really like the way you talk about the growing world, but I do.

Drank a tangy golden beer called Time Machine.

Okay, especially for you, that sounds dangerous.

It tries to carry a visual iconic story through pretty much dialogue alone, when imaginative sound design and some of the original narration would do it wonders.

Radio without sound design is pointless. Foley is special effects for the ears!

It has rounded lapels like a smoking jacket and deep pockets, perfect for books, gloves, tobacco, oddments picked up on walks and the seventies "pocket binoculars" I got at the same time.

That sounds beautiful. Have you got pictures?

Oh, thank you. :)

Luckily, any slippage happened before I drank it! A low percentage ale with a picture of a very seventies timeship on the pump.

*Have you got pictures?*

Yes, I'll put one up in my next post!

I read this too fast and my brain interpreted it as the plants growing in reverse, buildings springing back into life because of the beer's name.
That sounds like a perfect walking coat. And the weather is finally getting better for walks! We don't have many operative canals nearby, but the abandoned navigations are still mysterious and fascinating.

That's a gorgeous image! And hello, it's good to see you. :) Where are you living now? "The abandoned navigations" sounds very romantic.

I'm in Belfast these days. Also a very brick-featured town!
