And I totally understand where you're coming from. Random friends-only journals have always annoyed me, but I'm now starting to meet people IRL who have and use livejournal. Which makes me nervous. >_> I may follow suit shortly. (I like my fandom life separate...)

Both for choice, please, but if you feel like filtering may I have RL? It makes me all warmly nostalgic to hear about people still wrestling with Greek and Latin.

Glad to know that my whining's good for something. =) And the good thing is that - well, at least Latin is experiencing a revival in high schools, so it's not so rare anymore; I know many, many people who took it for their hs foreign language. (Learning Greek, on the other hand, makes me feel special.)
