A few months ago Netflix came to Australia and I avoided getting an account. But yesterday after discovering I could get a month's free trial, I thought why not. Let's try it out ( Read more... )

I found the same thing with Netflix in the UK when I did a free trial a couple of years ago now. Apparently it has improved some over here, but I'm glad you found somewhere to watch at least some stuff! :)

Netflix typically gets the last season aired for a show around the same time the show's DVD is released. Season 10 of Supernatural will probably be there in September.

I personally love Netflix. I use the instant streaming service and I've binge-watched many shows from the '90's as well as fallen in love with some of their original shows as well.

My free trial will be up by then so I'll have to make a decision about what I want to do haha.

Oh man, Carnivale. I will never get over that show. The atmosphere alone haunts me to this day. Definitely don't watch it at night, is what I remember. It's beautifully made and has Clea Duvall, so you very likely enjoy the rest of it!

The thing I noticed after moving overseas is just how much Australian TV censors shows. There were scenes in The Simpsons I didn't even know existed! Do you know if the same thing is happening with Netflix/cable/pay tv?

Season three of Elementary is really great! The mysteries are more detailed and nuanced, and Joan and Sherlock are awesome.

I'm up to episode 5 of season 1. A slow process in watching with my lifestyle right now haha. I hope to finish it very soon!

To be honest, I didn't even realised we censored things. I actually thought we were one of the least-censored countries regarding TV. That's interesting.

If you watch Netflix via Chrome, there's a plugin you can download called Hola and this lets you change your IP so you can watch any country's Netflix. So I watch both US and UK Netflix. For some reason, Netflix don't seem to care what country an account is established in; once you have your account, you can log in to any country's Netflix. I found huge differences between US and UK Netflix so I love that I can access both. :)

Unfortunately, Chrome is a big pain in the butt on my laptop with Windows 8.1... I tried using it, but it was just too glitchy for me to cope. But that's interesting, and I may see if it's possible to use Chrome simply for Netflix!
