Here is a very interesting article about menstruation. We might soon be presented with a choice. The arguments for and against said choice range from philosophical to biological to something else that I can't quite qualify but need to mention anyway because a list of two is not a list. I read something similar a few years ago, I think it might have been when that 3-month pill came out.
Basically, it was an article on how many women just ignore the 8-day-break you're supposed to take when taking the pill anyway, because, basically, they can't be bothered to have their periods.

As for me, I agree with the "love-hate relationship" statement.
I'm not a huge fan of cramps et al., but somehow it would feel weird just to switch the whole process off.
Since I'm not really plagued by PMS most of the time, one day of cramps is usually all I have to get through. Maybe if things were worse, I'd find the idea more intriguing.
As it is, though - I'm not really into taking pills when I don't actually need to.

I'm strangely fascinated by the idea that a very unpleasant part of my life can be switched on and off so easily. Of course, I'm too much of a scaredy cat to contemplate it until more research and/or time has passed.
