normal classes count for a 4
honors count for 5
AP count for 5.5

an A in Math counts the same as an A in art, assuming niether or both are honors. But depending on the college they may look at your classes differently. Savanah school of arts and Juliard don't care how many science classes you took and look at your art, your abilities, your extra curriculars. While Harvard and yale, don't give a rip about sports or what arts classes you took, but how many math and science classes and leadership positions in school. What college you choose and what major you decide on influence how they look at your grades. A political major's bio grade would not count as much to professors. While a Physics major's sociology grade isn't worth as much.

90% of a 4.0 would be a 3.6. But for every honors you have to add .1, AP's add 1.5. Of course a 4.0 with a study hall, isn't worth as much becuase your only getting 7 credits for the year.

hope this helps
