You just told me that you don't like being lumped with "conservative Christians" and you don't agree with their rhetoric about gays and lesbians.

I wish you had thought of that when Fred Phelps was in the next town, disrupting a funeral. You could have gone to the counter protest

I am deeply distressed at a culture (both national and global) that sees violence as a suitable course of action on just about any impetus. Taking a stand in opposition begins with me, with my words as well as my actions.
