HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!

I am probably the only christian(ish) person to not believe in a virgin birth, but a recent
observation. I am not a geneticist, but if a female has a virgin conception using that process, wouldnt the offspring have to be female as well?

No*.

*The rule is that XY is male, XX is female. EXCEPT it is possible to have an XX male or an XY female. This is because fetuses start out as female, but if they have XY then at some point different hormones are released, causing the fetus to develop as male. But sometimes there is a developmental error, causing XY fetuses to stay female or XX fetuses to become male. However, these cases are always sterile. So hypothetically, if a woman gave birth using only her own genetic material, she could have a son, but he would be sterile. (This is also ignoring the fact that parthenogenesis has never been observed as naturally occuring in mammals.)
