Siiigh, I wish these spoilers would come out a bit earlier, while I'm still awake.
Chapter 149
With hidden determination in his chest, Watanuki arrives at the TV channel before the recording. Can he save Kohane, who was wrapped in voiceless sorrow!?
Watanuki asks Doumeki to do the checking at the reception desk because maybe to the reception woman he is something that doesn't exist... (T/N: I'm guessing it's something like an ID check or some standard procedure for visiting a TV studio.)
Kohane is flamed by the staff's malicious gossip. Her mother grinds her teeth.
Doumeki is caught up with crime prevention and couldn't get any information about Kohane's dressing room. (T/N: I'm not quite sure about this one.) Especially since it seems that lately there's been a lot of harassment phone calls, e-mails, et cetera.
Kohane's mother screams that it's Watanuki's fault that Kohane's abilities have dulled.
Kohane: Kimihiro-kun is pure. (T/N: The word Kohane used usually means "pretty", but with all the talk about purifying things, I think the "clean" meaning is more appropriate here.)
Kohane-haha: What the, calling him by his name...!
Kohane: Pure, and a precious person.
The mother's facial expression is reflected in Kohane's eyes. She's frightened of Kohane's straight look.
Performer: That's why I said I didn't want to, you see?
To appear alongside such a fraud of a child!
Staffer: No, look.
If the doctor shows up, we'll see the real awesomeness. (T/N: The actual word used is "sensei". I'm betting on "doctor" here, but it could be "teacher" too. And I think there's a little typo in this sentence.)
Performer: Cut it out, already.
That stage-mama-like parent too.
You saw it in the weekly bulletin, right?
Naturally her husband would run away from her.
Kohane: ... Mother.
Kohane-haha: Why must they say such things!!
Lie or no lie, whichever way is fine!
Get it right!
Kohane: ...... That's right.
... Understood.
... I'll end it.
To cut the something that was holding back Kohane, that one word was enough. (T/N: The same verb means either "to support" or "to hold at bay". Given Kohane's situation, I think "to hold at bay" is more likely.)
Be it coincidence or hitsuzen, Himawari's father works at this TV channel. The program recording has already started.
The hitsuzen chosen by destiny draws together the three!! What will the unfaltering feelings and determination bring about to Kohane!?
Next chapter: February 9th. I guess it's some kind of consolation that Holic has gone up from monthly to bi-weekly?
What's this talk about a recording? Isn't the program broadcast live? Sure, there's probably a recording for later reruns/DVDs/whatever, but it's more of a secondary thing, no?
存在しないモノ? Who do you think you are, Watanuki? Roxas?
And here was I thinking that Himawari was just a TV addict, when actually her father works at the freaking channel! So probably it's not like she only knows Kohane from a TV viewer's distance, but rather from a staffer keeping her updated too...
