They help out the apple vendor. In thanks, they get an inn referral, go there and sleep. Next day, they begin to think something's off. When they go out into town, they help out the apple vendor.

Okay, that's creepy. I wonder what exactly it looks like? I mean, if someone's walking along a straight line, what is it like when the movement is reset? Does the person just get teleported to the start location?
Anyone else getting slight Mirage Town vibes here?
Requesting input here: How does "time lapse" (not the photography/filming technique) sound instead of "outside time"? Does it even make sense?
