I think in terms of the timeline, Holic is now behind TRC. Holic has been stuck on this one afternoon for a long time now while in TRC, time has been moving forward (it was at least a day between Sakura's death and when the group left for Clow Country). Therefore the stuff with Yuuko getting injured probably hasn't happened yet.
*SIGH* Yuuko stop telling us about "those children's hearts are closest than anything"!!! TELL US WHO in the world is Watanuki!!!?? He has a "thickest bond" with Syaoran... now he is "closest by heart" with Kohane O___O HOW??? WHY??
Grrrr... and as well, why is xxxholic just "completely" ignore Yuuko's injuries?? That's suppose to be a BIG thing... she is injured, but in this part... it act like NOTHING has happened to her!!! Hm... or is it that 'holic timeline is "finally" slower than TRC... o___O
Maybe it'll somehow turn out that Watanuki is the personification of hitsuzen (nevermind the slight impossibility of that), so he is closest to all people because every connection between people must go through him.
That would "really" sucks... because we are all "breaking our mind" trying to figure out the relationship between him and Syaoran... well, now we should add Kohane into the equation too...
And in the end the answer is... well, he IS the definition of hitsuzen [is that even possible o__O], everything surrounding with him is hitsuzen, everyone surrounding "just" are closest to him. That would definitely be "mess-up" not just crack -___-
Well considering Watanuki can't remember his past at all and has no one he really knows besides Yuuko, Doumeki, Himawari, Syaoran, and Kohane.
Since he only knows 5 people, he might have a "hitzuen bond" with all of them.
...But then why would he be "closer than anyone else" with more than one person? Maybe he really did only exist because of R!Syaoran (I still am sticking to my Twin Star theory, it makes it all the more interesting) making them closer than anyone one else PHYSICALLY, but since he had a connection with Kohane because of their seeing ghosts thing, he has a "closer than anyone else" connection MENTALLY?
... How many people are closest to Watanuki anyway? LOL!!!
I still don't really get what Kohane was thinking when she decided to lie. Is she demonstrating the idea of revenge by revenging to her mother?
And where are we in relation to the Tsubasa timeline? Well... considering Tsubasa is in an infinite loop in time right now............................ God knows.

Probably Yuuko-san is yet to be injured in xxxHOLiC timeline...so we will see....Watanuki and Kohane hold close to each other...that's sweet.
