That's not OK. The rest: good luck and that's wonderful, but the unpaid part isn't OK.

Hmm, well, for some value of unpaid.

I actually have ~5 weeks of accrued vacation at MS that I'm cashing out at termination time. I'd counted on this as being a nice addendum to the sign-on bonus at the new place.

So you could say that the next week is more "forced" or "unplanned" vacation than unpaid.
