Jurors were shown a pair of tall, platform shoes and a black wig Winkler said she was pressured to wear during sex.

That's weird, but it hardly seems enough to reduce charges of first-degree murder to a sentence of three years in prison. I'm not sure what "the nature of the offense" means, but it's hard to imagine how blowing someone away with a shotgun would mitigate your sentence.

Furthermore, the townspeople quoted in the article were sympathetic to her. Maybe the shoes were extremely uncomfortable. :)
