the "publish or perish" mantra of academia is beginning to hiss quietly. every two years, i have to do some sort of self evaluation and talk about my teaching, service, and creative endeavors (publishing attempts) at the university. so far, i haven't done jack shit except send out one sci-fi poem which was happily rejected by the editor - and

mrah! Good luck!!! Soo.... I'm guessing your pops has prostate cancer? Do you know what kind? I'm sorry though, tis a not fun thing to have people you love in bad situations health wise... speaking of which, I hope you take good care of yourself in this stressful time.

i didn't even know there were different kinds of prostate cancer! i haven't really asked him about that... ;) thanks for the stress luck!
