So my store sent me on a 3 day training in NYC.  I hate traveling but luckily Mark got forced to go from his store too haha.  We thought it was going to be all about holiday Operations since thats both of our new positions.  It ended up being all about Managerial Courage and learning how to have difficult conversations.   The only drawback from ( Read more... )

Hahahaha thank you so much for sharing that story, what a total asshole. I forgot to mention that this lady had a cart for her Tide Detergent and that was it!! haha So yes they were both lazy. If you cant carry your one item up then theres something wrong, and im sure that your grocery store probably has a 10 items or less line, so that dude shouldve gone in one of those. Its not your fault he didnt get into a shorter line,

I think we all had a bad day yesterday!

It's nice to see that someone else hates NYC. Too big, too crowded, and like you said, dirty and smelly.

The weirdest part about it is that the first time i was forced to go, it was for a skincare training. Why send me to the most polluted place in the world, with sausage smoke blowing in my face and shower water that tasted like chlorine if youre trying to make me learn how to have and give great skin haha.

I agree, wayy too big and crowded. I dislike being touched from all corners and being scared that ill get killed if i cross the street without waiting for what they call " A Fresh " haha thats supposedly what the little white man walk signal is called in NY.

Sorry this was so long, but i could just go on and on about this place haha

If you think NYC is dirty, try living in Los Angeles!

Hmm, I've never been to NYC, but now I'm not sure I want too. Have you been to Chicago much? I went to school pretty close to Chicago and I went up there some. I just hate the cold, grey, windiness of it. Eck. Hince: I moved to Florida as soon as I graduated.

Where do you work? Sounds like in sales or fashion or something of that nature?

Yeah i dont think you want to haha. Ive never been to Chicago, sadly i havent really been much of anywhere unless work sends me. I think Florida would be a wonderful place, or California. I guess im used to grey, cold weather from living in Mass.

Its kind of a mix of both, Im a manager at Sephora :)

What kind of work do you do in your office?

Hmm perhaps you and I have more things in common than I would have thought...

I lived in Mass once. My Dad coached football at Holy Cross?

Hmm Sephora huh? I LOVE that place. : ]

I use to work by one...when I worked for Coach (a job I adored).

Currently, I work as a social worker for a Crisis Pregnancy facility...but I'm in the process of trying to change jobs. To work for Child Protection Services. Sometimes I miss working in a mall.

Sorry to take so long to respond! Its been a crazy week for me.

Holy Cross always did so well in football, he mustve been a great coach ;)

I think id love to work for coach too, great discount on bags! I work in NH right now and Coach is right next door.

That seems like a pretty intense job you have now, and its only going to get more intense with the child protection service! Good luck :) Something only the strong willed can handle <3
