when was the last time you turned it on? I know that if you have it plugged to the wall you can turn it on. If you have not used the mini in over 24 hours, it goes into a "deep sleep." You have to press the select button, and it will turn on with the "Apple" showing up on the screen.

Ha ha! I had to call the guy who works at the store I purchased it from.
Man, I was so fretted with the thing!
I had to like, hold down the select button and the "menu" button at the the same time to get it to turn back on.
And something about that little switch at the top of the thing.
