Many people are rightly decrying the frothing racism on display in the Hoekstra Yellow Peril ad. It's in a long line of anti-Chinese propaganda going back to the 19th century, in which racist tropes were mustered up to justify the mass lynching and massacre of Chinese

I kind of want to shake the actress in the ad and be like "wtf is wrong with you?!"
Like with that Asian girl who was holding up a sign of a racist Asian caricature during the Knicks game (when Jeremy Lin was kicking ass). Why would you do this? Why????
