Hey.
I found this community while I was doing a random search on LJ. I'm Meredith (18 years old) and I was born in Ulsan, South Korea. Apparently I had at least 7 older sisters. In the hospital I was given the name Choi Soo-Yun. I was then adopted to the US when I was a baby.

At times I feel ashamed of myself though because I've not really learned the history of my birth country.

By now I'm quite used to people asking if I'm Chinese or Japanese. I'm also used to people being shocked when they find out I hate all seafood. They ask if I eat rice all the time. Or if I can read any Asian writing. A lot of times they think that just because I was born in South Korea, I should know the language. (Nope. I know more Japanese due to anime/manga ^_^)

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been through this. It's that typical stereotyping that's been impaled into most people's minds.

And I don't mean to sound like I'm bashing on anyone. Hell, I've lived here in the US for just about all of my life. To me it doesn't matter what sort of blood runs through your veins. If I like you, then I like you.

Anyways, I'm glad I found this community. It looks pretty cool even though it isn't that active. Hopefully it'll pep up soon.
