Summary: It's your birthday. And you're not happy.
You tapped you foot impatiently and twirled your phone in your hand as you stood waiting for you boyfriend to arrive. He had asked you to meet him in front of the city’s convention center at 7:00 pm. It was now 7:15 pm. You sighed and checked your phone for any text messages, however, along with terrible judgement of time, your boyfriend also seemed to have a tendency to lose his phone a lot. Normally, it wouldn’t bother you that much, but today was your birthday and you had been looking forward to a nice, simple night out with your boyfriend. You had not, however, planned on waiting 20 minutes for him outside an empty convention center.
Just as you were about to look for a place to sit, hands covered your eyes and you felt a familiar presence behind you. His breath tickled your ear as you heard a husky voice whisper, “Hello beautiful” from behind you.
“You’re late,” you replied unhappily. Pouting slightly, you turned around to look at your boyfriend who was looking guiltily at you.
“Sorry, baby,” Kibum apologized. “But I have something prepared for you that I promise will make up for it.”
“What is it?” you asked.
“I can’t tell you. You’ll have to find out,” he smirked at you as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close to give you a kiss on the forehead. You raised your eyebrows at him.
“You know I know like celebrating my birthday. Or extravagant gifts,” you chided.
“I know.” He smiled at you and fixed a strand of your hair that was covering your face. “But I promise you’ll like this. Just trust me?” You smiled back at him. How could you resist that adorable boyish grin? You had to give in.
“Alright,” you agreed.
“Good,” he replied. He looked into your eyes for a moment before asking. “Will you do something for me then?” You smiled and nodded. You loved him. You would trust him with your life. You would do anything for him. The two of you had been together for almost three years now, and he had never given you a reason not to trust him.
Kibum pulled a length of black cloth out of his pocket and showed it to you. “Can you put this on for me then?” he asked. You glanced at the cloth and then looked at him questioningly. “I just don’t want to ruin the surprise.” You glanced at it warily, then nodded. He chuckled as he wrapped it around your head and tied it in the back. He took your hand firmly. “Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall.” You could almost see the grin on his face. You rolled your eyes slightly and held onto his arm. He took your purse from you and began to guide you into the building.
After a while of Kibum guiding you through the building, the two of you finally stopped in a large room. Kibum led you carefully through the doors and placed his hands on your shoulders, stopping you.
“Are we here? Can I take this off now?” You placed your hands on the annoying black cloth that was restricting your vision.
“Wait,” Kibum placed his hands over your and pulled then away from your eyes. “Not you. Just one second.” He placed his hands on your shoulders again and led you to a chair. “Sit here for a second,” he said as he sat you down and left your side. you sat there silently for a few moments, but after a while you began to feel bored sitting by yourself.
“Kibum? Are you done yet?” you asked, shifting restlessly on your chair. “I thought you were supposed to be making up for being late? Now you’re not even done with the surprise?”
You sat quietly for a couple minutes longer before you started to get really bored. You tried to listen for any signs of your birthday present, but all you could hear was the sound of objects being moved around.
“You know, I’ve always wanted a pony,” you paused a second when you heard what sounded like snickering coming from somewhere on your left. You turned your head hoping to hear the sound again, but you were met with silence. You tilted your head, then decided to continue what you were saying earlier.
“Well it doesn’t smell like hay so I’m gonna assume you didn’t get me a pony. I guess a puppy would be good too. Is it a puppy? Are there other people here? I feel like I hear other people. Are you gonna take this off anytime soon? I mean, not that it’s bad, I would just prefer to be able to see what you’re getting me. Are you getting me something? I certainly hope you are. I am your girlfriend, you know. Hey where were we on that puppy thing, by the way? Oh, I hear a noise. What is that? It sounds like silverware. Are we having cake? I don’t like celebrating birthdays, but I like the cake part! Most people seem to overlook that. Are you listening to me? I hope you are. That way you know what to get me for Christmas. Unless you’ve already gotten it for me now. Oh! I hear something again! What is that? Are you ever going to let me see your present? Is it a present? I mean, I know I don’t like presents, but I have been standing here blindfolded for almost 15 minutes now so I think I should deserve some kind of reward. Kibum? Can I take this off yet? I’m kinda getting bored standing here talking to myself.”
Suddenly you felt hands on your shoulders urging you to get up and guiding you to another area of the room. Kibum stood behind you and put his hands on the knot in the blindfold.
“Ready?” he asked.
“I’ve been ready for the past 35 minutes,” you replied. You heard a quiet apology murmured from behind you before you felt the blindfold come off of your eyes. You gasped at the sight in front of you.
There were balloons everywhere. Some floating in the air, some laying on the ground. Confetti added to the colorful array of balloons while streamers hung from the ceiling. Your favorite flowers were placed around the room. Surrounding the table were 14 of your favorite people in the world.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” they shouted.
“Oh, you guys!” you gasped, tears beginning to form in your eyes. “This is amazing!”
Kibum took your hand and led you over to the table where the guys had begun singing happy birthday. You looked around the table at all of the guys singing and couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Tears ran down your cheeks as the boys finished up the song and you blew out the candles. You sighed in happiness and laughed, going around and hugging every single one of them. Finally you reached Kibum again. He took your hand and led you to sit down. You smiled at him and allowed him to push in the chair for you.
Everyone began to cheer and shout for the cake to be cut. You laughed and took the knife from Leeteuk, cutting a large slice of cake for each one of your boys. As everyone was happily chatting and enjoying the cake, you felt someone staring at you. You turned to see Kibum smiling at you. He took your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours while giving you a kiss on the cheek. You smiled back and leaning in to kiss him softly on the lips. You pulled back slowly and whispered into his ear.
“I love you.” He grinned and whispered back.
“I love you too.”
“Aww! Look at the happy couple!” Donghae cooed as he and Sungmin began pouring the wine for everybody.
Heechul raied his glass and shouted. “A toast! A toast!” You smiled and stood up, removing your hand from Kibum’s to raise your glass. You waited until everyone quieted down before you spoke.
“Well I just want to thank everyone for being here today. I know you all have busy schedules so it really means a lot to me that you’re here tonight to celebrate with me. You all mean so much to me. I don’t know what I’d do without you guys. I’m so glad that I get to celebrate this special day with some of my favorite people in the world.”
“To ~~~~~!” Kyuhyun said as he raised his glass in the air.
“To ~~~~~!” everyone exclaimed, following suit. You laughed and raised your glass along with them, taking a sip.
“So we know you don’t like presents,” Siwon began. You groaned. “But we all really wanted to get you something and Kibum said it was ok!” You turned to raise an eyebrow at your boyfriend who was wincing slightly.
“They all really love you. They just wanted to do something nice,” he explained. You rolled your eyes and turned back to Siwon.
“Alright what is it?” The boys exchanged a couple glances before parting to reveal the giant pile of presents hidden behind them on the other side of the table. You blanched.
“What? Why couldn’t we just have a nice little celebration without presents?”
“What kind of a birthday part doesn’t have presents?!” Zhoumi exclaimed, pulling out a bag from the top of the pile. “Now here! open mine first!” You stared at the giant pink bag in front of you and turned to Kibum.
“You owe me a pony.”

Gahhhh!!! Ok, so if anyone has been reading this series, I'm really sorry for not updating for so long. And I'm also really sorry for how phenomenally terrible this oneshot is. :| I owe my readers. And I also owe Kibum. But anyway, Donghae is coming up next. And I also decided I'm not gonna do one for Shindong. Well, probably not anyway. Gonna go shoot myself for this fic now! Bye!
