China/America - Lust, not love
Reading on real life Sino-US relations makes me think that there's some interesting UST between these two. They're always bickering (both because of deep-set political/philosophical differences and because they are economic rivals) but at the same time they each recognize that playing nice with the other is crucial to advancing their own interests. America is the world's superpower, China is a rising superpower; they can't afford to be enemies, but you can't exactly say they're friends.
So, I want to see China and America not necessarily liking each other, but being irresistibly attracted by each other's respective status and money. Also China practically owns us by now, we're in so much debt.
This calls for some quick-and-dirty smut which both will deny in the morning... or, just kinda-sorta passive-aggressive fail!flirting in the midst of arguing.
