Greece/Japan - Japan loses his memory after WWII
I'm new to the fandom so I honestly don't know if this type of story has been written/requested before at all... I apologize if it was!
Anyway, this is my request/prompt:
Post WWII, Japan suffers from memory loss due to the trauma he suffered from the bombings. He forgets all of the other countries, the fact that he's a country himself, and even his own name and traditions. Basically, the event traumatizes him to the point where he subconsciously doesn't want to remember anything that happened while he was a country. He still at least acts somewhat like himself, just maybe less traditional due to the memory loss?
The other countries feel guilty about it (especially America?) and eventually join together to help Japan through his recovery process, visiting Japan at different times and doing things with him, or taking him places that they think will help spark his memory again. Eventually the memories do begin coming back to him but at times he forgets again due to the trauma he suffered, so the memories don't always stay.
Now this is where the pairing comes in; Greece eventually drops by for a visit and after spending some time with him suddenly Japan remembers everything due to the bond he had shared with Greece. Japan eventually is able to return to his old self again after accepting what had happened to him and everyone is thrilled which leads to happy ending~!
(but, bonus points if the experience changes some things about him for the better too?)
