Writing Challenge: Taken from Mary. (^^ = )
Haha I hardly ever do these, but this one kinda sounded interesting. :D Let's give it a go shall we?
According to Mary, "The challenge was to write the start of a story with a description of the setting to set the mood."
She apparently got it from moderndayportia . Just needed to make sure about all of my credits hahaha.
A chilly night wind blew through the trees, rustling the leaves and howling past the branches. Within the wolf-like howling wind, the suffering moans of the dead called out to weary travelers walking along the forest edge as though a dark siren song sang to lure them in. Despite the bright full moon shining down on the treetops, no light shone on the forest floor. A rustle. A strange light amongst the trees? The kitsune's fire? Another trick to trap a victim into the black depths of the forest?
Noose-like vines clung to the branches telling the old tales of suicide, death, and lost souls wandering amongst the trees. Hidden eyes watched the ground below. Spirits in the trees, bushes, and all around watch, wait, and listen. The black cry of a solitary crow is a reminder of the futility of salvation. The sea of trees drown the souls of many, unyielding and merciless in their imprisonment.
Resistance is futile. Escape is not an option. Welcome to the Suicide Forest. The spirits will be watching.
Slightly inspired by Japan's Aokigahara forest, where it is said most of the suicides in the country occur and where several spirits make their home. :D
In other news, went out to dimsum with Beth on Friday. My God we must've been hungry... (^^ ;; ) I don't think we had any idea that we somehow consumed 30 dollars worth of food! Oops! Probably shouldn't have gotten that shrimp... ｶﾞ━━Σ(ﾟДﾟ|||)━━ﾝ!!
Well, at least it was good. Very good.
Well I think I may have found someone to look at and edit my resume. Crystal says she and her mother will look at it. Which means, I'll be able to send out more resumes soon. I mean it's probably gonna help more than it will hurt.
And since IHOP seems to be hiring, I can probably go and drop it off to them on Monday, and see if I can get an interview. σ(ﾟｰ^*) Wish me luck!
