I doubt I belong here because I am not Asian, but I am trying to get a question answered for a friend of mine. He got this tattoo that was supposed to be a Chinese character, but now he's not even sure if it's Chinese, let alone that it means what he was told it meant. So, I'm going to cut the image in case there's a rule against this, but can ( Read more... )

I'm only about 4-5 classes into Chinese 1 class, so I am not much help. I tried looking for the character in my workbook, but didn't see it. It looks Chinese to me, but I don't know what it says.

Thank you for trying though. He has two friends that speak and read a little Chinese, but neither of them knows what it means either. I wonder if the tattoo artist just messed up.

That word is Chinese...
It means respectful...& i think it also means honorous, but i'm not sure. But it's respectful for sure. =)

Heya, I just dropped by, and I saw this, so I checked my dictionary and yup, it means respect, and also, for some reason, it means to take caution in order to avoid difficult situations. And it's pronounced as 'ke'. xDD

Ahh me and my lousy Chinese. xD
