what the hell is that thing? XD I can't tell which is the lenses, seriously I can't, the way it looks it looks like it has 2 of them!! XD

Well the hood is a 16 by 9 lens hood in order to give that widescreen feel. The thing to the side is for the assistant camera can pull focus when the actor moves from one spot to another. The only bad thing I can see is how the hell will the cinematographer see the shot since the display will be so close to this face.

yes the HD vid capabilities are really good
no it does not compare to a standalone that has better feature set.

this is just a monster, it had to be made something and its not like this'll be a trend.

now my question is how do they adjust the apeture, cause ususal film camera does that as well. If its automatic, then your f-ed when you come to going from sunlight to shadow areas. Well it'd just like a standard vid cam aesthetics.
