In this spirit of keeping this up to date, I'm moving back to New Orleans at the end of this month! I'm super excited but kind of scared. As for being a waitress, those nights happen. Depending on the restraunt, they may happen a lot. When I did a similar service every other day I got jipped in tips. I was a busboy, getting a portion of the waiter's tips. 1 waiter regularly gave us $5 for the night in tips when we were supposed to get 20% of what they got. Luckily, the other waiters actually gave us the normal amount usually.

If I sold 600... I should make atleast $90 (haha) 2.5% of that would be about 15... and 20% of what I made would be about 18, so I guess that isnt too bad, kind of high tipout.
Yeah I used to have the same thing happen to me when I was a host at the last restuarant I worked at, except they were allowed to just give whatever they wanted, so Id get anywhere from $1 - $15 a shift, pretty crummy.
Im a fan of just taking out tipout so I dont have to worry about being fair.
But yeah, guess it comes with the territory, just wish it didnt.
