My first computer was a PC XT with a 40-meg hard drive, 128k of RAM, and an external, 2400-baud modem.

I had all my music on cassettes until I was 28, which is when I got my first CD player.

There were no after-school programs in my city.

None of my female friends talked about menstruation, even in the 1980s and '90s. They made up names for it: "Fred is coming to visit." (Personally, I didn't think it was necessary to hide the fact that women menstruated from men, but these women did.)

It's better.

I was born in '55 and am quite clear it was worse when I was young, and bad in ways I (of course) didn't really understand back then.

I thought I was the only one that remembered programming Fortran (and other languages) with punch cards!

My first PC was a 286-12 with a 30 MB hard drive - I can't remember how much RAM.

Thanks for the memories!
