There really must have been something wrong...

... with LJ last night. Something was preventing my post from appearing, and that's all there is to it. I can't believe that all of my friends here are so callous and thoughtless that they would just ignore me completely. They are all so much better than that ( Read more... )

So what's to forgive? We all post/write/publish/talk when we feel like we have something important (to ourselves, or to other people) to say, or a useful response to make, and we don't when we don't. There's generally, as far as I can see, no obligation or shortcoming involved, hence forgiveness really isn't called-for.

(Mind you, lacking air-conditioning, I'm not coping well with this first Hot Spell of the Summer, and my thinking is even more muddled than usual, so I might be missing something of import.)

Condolences on the lack of air-conditioning! A few weeks ago, a bookcase fell over, breaking the free-standing fan in the library. No problem; there's still the AC in the hallway ceiling, and the living room ceiling fan.

Then on Saturday, the AC, which had been dripping condensation slightly, began to issue forth a stream of water. (Fortunately, I had already put a box on the floor with a plastic trash bag stretched over it to catch the drips, so the carpet didn't get drenched.) Then last night, I turned on the ceiling fan, walked away from it to get something in the kitchen, and the fan came loose and crashed to the floor!

(I mentioned this to a co-worker just now, and she asked, "Who put the ceiling fan in?" I had just enough presence of mind to answer, "Must have been the Phantom of the Opera.")

I reported both of these to the resident manager, and she's going to get them taken care of, but still, it's an inconvenience. Sigh.

There's not much to say, except sorry to hear it. I don't think you're doing anything "wrong", in the sense of something fixable, that life goes like this.

when you post some thing,
like you did last night
i've found what ever i write to try to cheer you up.

You seem to make it make the whole thing seem even worse for you.
so instead of letting you make it worse
so i read and figured you'd work it out.

hey,Your journal is for you-to work things out.

How many of my posts have you not written anything to me about?
does that mean you don't care? no
it means you have your own life and just don't know what to say.

as for that exgirlfriend-
the whole thing just makes me wonder
why you'd want her back?
maybe you don't think you're worth having a girl who really cares for you?

well I think she's there
but you both need to come to that right place to find each other.
it will happen ok can't tell you when
but it will

so many things are all about timing...

having something bad happen on a Saturday evening, is bad...

expecting people to read the post when you most need to hear back and it is on a Saturday evening can be really bad

being at the right time and place in the universe to meet the right person at the right moment, that is good, really really good...

it happened to me on a crazy afternoon in a Pirate Shop...unfortunately two of the three pirate stores I knew about are gone, the last one is in Long Beach, you have already told me that Long Beach is out of range for finding someone, so we either have to figure out a better spot or open a new pirate store...

good timing is rarely when we expect it to be...bad timing is rampant...

keep your chin up, so you will be looking when the timing is right...

You're also assuming that ALL your friends have been on LJ in the last 24... Also, you get better responses in a post when you actually ask a question.

Not trying to be a pain, just the Devil's Avocado...
