I suppose Brodeur will have to retire soon, so it's good there's another goalie there....maybe they can score by committee and not give up any shots?

I assume Brodeur will retire at the end of this season, when his contract expires? I mean, given his age-related decline, it seems unlikely that he'd get another contract, so they definitely need a back-up, and given the high number of back-to-back games, a starter-quality backup.

3-0. :( OK, the season can only get better from here, right? Right. That's my story.

Yeah, that seems likely. It sucks that this is the year they lose their first-rounder, dunno why they didn't give up the pick the year they were picking 29th.

I think the year was assigned by the league when they punished the the Devils for the Kovalchuk deal?

That sucking sound was me getting engrossed in the Dan Riley-Marc Lapointe story. I don't even watch hockey, and the little I know about it from you and a work colleague (who lives Ovie and Patrick Roy (pronounced Wah?)). You are so evil. And also my favorite.

I'm sorry your only hockey experience is through someone who is a Caps and Avs fan. Because that way lays heartbreak and journalists calling all Russian players (or players who are from former Soviet countries, somehow they never connect that Belarus, etc are not Russia) "enigmatic". And also, Martin Brodeur >>> Patrick Roy.

But seriously. I really enjoy the tumblr and the fic for that universe. :) The commentary about gender roles and demographics is interesting, I think.

Eh, Caps, Avs, whatever. I'm not sure I could be a fan of the game and read RPF. So squicked by Fedal fic. And perplexed by Toews-Kane.

I understand why ppl ship Kane-Toews but it is not really my thing. I'm super curious to see how this season plays out, now that they are on the same line again.

Hockey as a sport I like to watch and hockey fandom are separate in my head? Mostly because my team is the Devils, and no one (seriously, NO ONE) writes them, so never do the two meet. Basically.
