Took Jenny to Miss Saigon last night at TPAC.

I was dissapointed in the show overall, I guess, I didn't leave feeling anything in particular, but the chap that played the 'engineer', Johann Michael Camat, was freakin' excellent!

Very impressed was I.

Oh well, now i will return to work and watch this current serif turn sans.

I just don't understand how such a play did not affect you? It was very important for me to get a look into a HUGE and UGLY part of our history that I otherwise would not be able to and I would think it would be more important to you since BOTH of your parents were in Vietnam! I have read a few books but the play really made me feel like I understand it a tiny bit better. You have to realize that it was written out of strong emotion and the fact that "dream" and "ice cream" rhyme in one song doesn't mean anything, really. I doubt the goal of the playwright(not sure if that is correct terminology)was to win a Tony, which could very well be an inaccurate assumption on my part. It changed my perception of one thing for sure. Yes, maybe some of the soldiers did cheat on their wives but maybe it was because they were scared shitless and they needed to find a little bit of comfort some way. Maybe it was out of desperation because they all thought they would die at any moment. Maybe they saw innocence in each other and people put in horrible ( ... )
