←Previous First Minho looked through the crowd; he had mixed feelings about not being able to find familiar faces amongst it, but maybe that could make things easier for them.
"So" Kibum was seeing in front of him but not really looking at something in particular "You're saying you'll sneak out with this crowd surrounding us?" "You have to admit this is the only thing that could work right now"
Kibum huffed, looking to the side "And what about me?!" he scream-whispered to Minho.
Jinki shifted in his seat a bit nervously "Kibum" he said just to be roughly cut by a 'shut it'. Still, he sighed and went on "Kibum, this could be our only chance. We need to work together"
"...Alright, fine!" But Kibum still had his nose scrunched up in a grumpy expression.
"Thanks" "Yeah, whatever"
Once they had sorted things out, Minho focused his attention on the crowd again, waiting. A man who had that leadership air appeared in front of the crowd and everyone started to calm down and focus on them. Then seemed like the right moment.
Kibum started to breathe heavily, he shifted, one hand going up to hold his head, trying to steady himself with the other, he closed his eyes. The other two looked at him as he let out a small whimper and held onto the trunk he was sitting on, Minho and Jinki worriedly leaning towards him, but their hands being slapped away from Kibum's body as he suddenly stood on wobbly legs, just to promptly fall to the ground seconds later, completely limp and unconscious.
Or at least, that was what he wanted everyone to believe.
A fuss spurred across the crowd, and Minho and Jinki saw this as their cue. Taking advantage of everyone's confusion, they slipped out of the place, moving carefully towards the huts, hoping once they were there it would be easier to escape to the jungle.
They moved fast, their hearts beating faster on each corner they reached, tensing, almost unconsciously preparing in case they encountered someone on their way. Fortunately, they didn't. Looking around when they were in the border of the jungle, they stopped a bit and next Minho indicated the direction they should follow.
They advanced a bit slowly now, but their hearts still running fast. They were still alert, and as much as they would have liked to go faster it was very hard to move through the jungle.
"All right, let's split here" They stopped when they reached a certain point. Minho decided they were far enough from the village, Jinki just nodded.
But just as Minho had turned in a different direction, walking away from Jinki, in a blink he found himself hitting the ground with a groan escaping his lips. He was confused for a brief second but soon was aware of what was happening, and as he heard Jinki calling his name he skillfully flipped over the one who had attacked him and had made him fall, just to be surprised again.
He met fierce dark eyes and honey locks, and a low feral growl greeted him. Taemin took advantage of Minho's moment of surprise to flip them over again and Minho didn't think the slender boy would have that kind of strength in him.
The boy raised his hand, dangerously aiming down at Minho's neck with a sharp object, but just as Minho was about to try and defend himself Taemin was knocked to the side by a just in time Jinki, and both struggled on the ground.
Minho watched with wide eyes as his leader was cut in one of his shoulders by the skilled boy, his blood rushing faster on his veins as he saw the other's start to leak out of the wound; Taemim was not holding back anything and was giving Jinki a hard time.
Minho stood on his feet as fast as he could, reaching out to help Jinki but his attempts were frustrated, feeling a heavy weight suddenly on his back again and he couldn't help but fall on his knees, huffing in frustration as he saw how his partner kept struggling with the surprisingly fierce boy.
But he had problems of his own now as the person on his back straddled him, making him fall forward, his face hitting the ground and once more he lay on the jungle's floor, struggling to get free of that grip which turned out to be difficult all right. The man holding him was strong, and his position was not to his advantage.
He heard a scream above him, directed to the other two as Jinki seemed to get the upper hand, and Minho could recognize the voice of his captor as Jonghyun's.
He couldn't be mistaken.
Adrenaline ran fast through his veins and he managed to free one of his hands, rolling over, but just when he thought he had Jonhyun were he wanted him, the shorter man managed to slip away.
Just to charge back against Minho. And Minho thought it was starting to become an habit of his that falling to the ground business. Because he really didn't have the time nor the chance to stop the other in his tracks, all aggressiveness and blunt force of impact making Minho feel like the brute male attacking him was well capable of breaking his ribs.
And he might just have done that because it really hurt.
It hurt but maybe not as much as his pride right then. And Minho flatly refused to accept defeat, he was just not going to get humiliated, and with all, even though Jonghyun's first intentions might have been to defend and help his friend and companion, it soon became a battle of wits between the two.
Maybe Minho's actions encouraged the other and yes, maybe he had overreacted a bit.
Trying to dominate each other, they were a panting mess of stretching and flexing muscles and sweat, some teeth and hair tugs from Jonghyun's side. All the tension and strained noise managed to reach the other pair, making them stop their own struggle to glance momentarily at the act that was taking part not so far from them.
Again, Taemin showing that cleverness was some times the best weapon, immobilized Jinki while he was still distracted by Minho and Jonghyun. Minho seemed to have forgotten all about his leader being in trouble, and about his battle, in contrast to his own, having his life on the line rather than his pride. He was remembered until Taemin seemed to be about to mercilessly seal his leader's fate, all his thoughts popped like a bubble suddenly by Jonghyun's screaming, and the boy seemed to halt.
Everything was calm and quiet suddenly, and the four of them looked at each other. But it didn't last, as they heard the noise of people approaching.
Once again Minho found himself being captured and led by strong men, but this time, this time the air was so tense he genuinely feared for their lives. He thought about Kibum and he felt dizzy, his head spun violently and he had to hold to his captors in order to stay on his feet. Had he been discovered also? The thought made his insides twist uncontrollably. Jinki seemed to be in a state, if not worse, not so different of Minho's.
Minho looked ahead of him again, catching Taemin in his range of vision, and it seemed as if the boy harbored some kind of grudge from the way he kept looking at them. Then Minho noticed there was not a trace of Jonghyun, which, for some reason, didn't help his mood.
