Rediculous request/stupid question?

I get to my office after work around 10pm-11pm.  I stop in to put my equiptment away and switch from the company vehicle to my personal vehicle.  I'm there a total of 10-15 minutes, tops.   The problem is that I'm scared.  It's in a office/storage unit complex.  There isn't a single place with people in it for 2 blocks, and any houses there are,

I stay on the phone with my husband when I'm entering and leaving. Before I get into my work van, on my way out (to move it to where I keep my truck), I reach in and turn on the dome light, just in case somebody's in there (inspired by an email forward from years ago). I start it up and drive away immediately, away from my office itself to the wide open area where my truck's parked. I don't carry anything with me. I'm lifting 100lb totes onto my dolly, which I need both hand for (duh. lol). The lot is well lit.

I think I've covered my bases, but even if I'm on the phone, how long would it take for my husband to call for help and for them to get to me (paranoid much?)? The only thing I haven't thought of is the panic button on my truck. That could make enough noise. I could keep my finger on it.

Life alert? My son suggested I should get one (when he was 3 and apperantly watched too much tv). "Just in case you've fallen and can't get up."

You can ask, but I won't guarantee they'll send someone. Who knows what else is happening at the same time?

I might suggest you check your state laws and look into buying a taser. They are an excellent self defense tool.
