I <3 my room......sorta!

Hey everyone I'm new here. I'm 20/female/MN.

I joined so that I can hopefully get some ideas from others on things to make my room look more special. I've tried to make it "vintage" like but it's half working and half not.

i think it would be really helpful if you posted one shot of your room as a whole in addition to all the pieces. it's very hard to get the overall idea without it.

I agree. However, the theme of your room right now to me looks more sort of old middle eastern with lots of exotic warm tones. I would get rid of the birdcage and change the bedding to add some warm oranges and reds and perhaps some beautiful indian saris. Your beautiful little lanterns, lamp, candles and beaded candleholders are definitely within the theme I've described more so than vintage. But if you are still 100% set on a vintage theme I would give the room a paint with some nice earthy greens and a natural "distressed" look timber, or a chocolate brown veneer timber would suit what you have currently got there :) Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas. I kinda want to look at Urban Outfitters for some comforters. There's are always SO cute!! I will definitely post pictures when my room is done.

You could still do vintage and eastern themed easily if you focus on the 20s when people were all into egyptian and eastern art. You would have to pair the eastern with art deco to make that work

Where are you thinking of going with this vintage theme? There's alot of different vintages.

The one advise I could give you is that the picture and the shelf are arranged in a very semetrical way that has a modern almost minimalistic feel. I would suggest breaking up that grouping if you want to make things more vintage feeling.
