Thank you... ^_^ I moved my bed to a corner of the room to avoid the fan being on top and even though is still a bit close to the canopy so far I'm not having any problems. The netting on the canopy is so light it almost doesn't move with the fan blowing.
Thank you! ^_^ It's a master bedroom and it is a good size. I got the pillows and the whole comforter set including curtains 75% off! *_* The canopy netting I got from $100 (if you can believe that crazy price) for about oly $5.00 also on clearance! I'm really happy with the result.
Regarding painting the chair fabric... might want to stop by a fabric store like Joanns or so forth to ask them. They certainly have fabric dyes and paints, though finding the right thing may be tricky... though going darker is easier than lightening them.
You may want to pick up a good book on reupholstry yourself... See what skills and tools your friends have that you can utilize/borrow... If the fabric is removed carefully, you can dye it and them put it back on again.
A cheaper method to making the chairs fit the look is to buy a bit of fabric in that same lighter burgandy shade, and use it to make some throw pillows for the bed, maybe a small tablecloth for one of the side tables, an additional accent on the windows, a runner for the top of the dresser.... in other words, finding ways to incorperate that color in to the existing style, so that the chairs now fit. Adding variety (the varying shades of burgandy) may actually result in added depth to the whole design.
