I am in a massive pickle and I'm hoping to get some suggestions or advice from you, who seem to know what you're talking about and come up with really nice designs. I have just graduated from high school and since I'm going to be stuck in my parents house a little longer I'd like to give it a different look. We have similar paneling in a room. My husband is as attatched to it as your parents seem to be. He wants it to be his den when the kids grow up. *sigh ( ... )

I want to paint them but I doubt that'll be alright with my grandparents who have the mindset that they'll barely be able to sell the house with a different colour than white (even though they have no plans to sell it). if you hate the paneling and can't take it down, what about stapling fabric over it? its more expensive than paint but if you weight the bottom and staple the top of the fabric to the wall then you won't damage the paneling. its a little tricky to do but might be worth it.
