perspective, people.

really?
i mean, really?
*sigh.*

sometimes i forget my audience is young and sheltered. its about perspective, people.
it was a fight. really, just a fight that i filmed.
its interesting how up in arms some people got yet im sure laugh at jackass (and yes, there are fights), watch cops and americas craziest fucking insane videos caught on tape, laugh along with my stories about fights and watch the evening news. yes, its all entertainment. does it suck that dude was bleeding, well, yeah. was it interesting to watch, yes. did anyone die? nope. is anyone seriously injured? nope. two people pushed each other around and gave each other ouchies.
was 911 called? yes, the minute i yelled out, "hes got a knife."

and was i going to jump in and help?

FUCK NO.

are you drunk? uh, lets see, sketchy homeless man with a kitchen knife. i dont need the 'captain save a random' badge, thank you very much. because hey, i dont know him nor do i know the other dude so tell me why i would want to put my safety in jeopardy. would you have explained it to my mom when she was in the hospital identifying my body how it was good that someone stepped in despite the cops that were pulling up? right.
i have a slight feeling that most of the people who made disparaging comments about my character live in comfortable rural or suburban areas and idealize that most people are genuinely good and just need a good talking to.

was posting the video crass? sure. hi, my name is chris, have we met?
is this the post you're picking up your flag for? i mean, really?
yes, its a fight. as long as no one i know is being directly effected, you're goddamn right im going nowhere fucking near it. hey, i have friends that like me and ill be damned that if i hear that fruity jumped in to stop two weirdbeards from fighting and was now suffering from a stab wound in a hospital i wouldnt be fucking stoked. you know what i would say, "what the fuck is wrong with you for sticking your nose into places it doesnt belong." ive been in plenty of fights, if i looked over and saw some dude videotaping you know what i would say, "dude, lemme get a copy." because i know its JUST A FIGHT.

and for the people who liken this fight (and no, you didnt even see anyone get stabbed, nor did anyone die or was seriously injured) to a gang-rape... holy shit, you have zero perspective on the world. to liken a skirmish of a fight to rape or a death in the family is not only offensive but a slap in the face to those who have gone through something so extreme.

but hey, at least it got you kids talking about something other than facebook and hair dye.

oh, and to the anonymous person who posted:

"I bet it was oh so hilarious when your grandpa and brother got killed? Yeah, didn't think so. You're such a fucking bitch."
