I got the same result as you, mostly because of the PoMo stuff. As Pynchon books go, The Crying of Lot 49 is definitely not my favorite, but it's easily better than Mason & Dixon. I never really tried to "figure it out" with Crying, because it was the first of his books I read... now after having so much experience reading his books, I know that my approach was absolutely spot-on correct. Ergo, no problems with it!
I'm doing well. No reason to complain other than the fact that I'm never satisfied with anything. Gigging a lot, got a slot at south by southwest, dating the real-life equivalent of Tank Girl, have a nice new house that I just signed a year lease on.
