who do you guys recommend for web hosting?

i've tried doteasy, and they aren't bad, but their free plan doesn't allow for a bunch of things. i know that dreamhost is a favourite for many, but they're a little pricey, and i don't necessarily need everything they offer. and what about godaddy...how are they? they're affordable, but i don't know what ( Read more... )

I've been very happy with Lunarpages for almost two years now. I like that they have phone support and a user forum, and the price is great for all that you get.

I don't know which US prices are... but I bought a domain+ windows server + linux server for about 35$ per year. (You even get 5 different emails and free MySql). Here you can get more info http://hosting.aruba.it/offerte/LISTINO.asp?Lang=EN

I've used both go daddy and www.your-site.com with pleasure for several years now. I normally use your site for my clients. Reasonably priced, has everything you need and I've never had a problem with them.

thanks. i'm leaning a bit towards godaddy i think. they have a more affordable plan, and offer a little more, it seems.

lucyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy stick with me! Ive been with 8inet.com for 2 years now and its ONLY $4.95 a month... CANADIAN!
Local Toronto company, my sites never crashed, never went down, and I have like soooooooooooooooooooooo much stuff on it. Look into that if you havent found one yet

oh no! i already signed up with a company, just last week. but i will totally look into them, because i'd rather support a canadian company, and i have another domain i need to register soon. thanks for that info though :)
