Your car will stop reporting the estimated range left once it goes below 50km. And "range" will start flashing, in case the "hey idiot! You're low on fuel" indicator you've had for the past 25km didn't get your attention

In the old '91 Lumina, before those new fangled indicators, I ran out of gas waiting in line at a gas station.

What did you do, just throw it in neutral and push it ahead?

essentially, ya. although i had someone help me, cuz steering and pushing a car at the same time is difficult. so i pushed from the driver door with one hand in the car on the wheel, and he pushed from the back of the car.
