Yeah! People looked kinda sad, a-and it's quieter than normal, so I thought I'd give people free compliments and make them feel better! Then maybe it'd be happier...
[Voice] - this almost made me cry. shcjd IDEK WHY.chiisaichouApril 29 2011, 06:33:45 UTC
[Heh...who said children weren't smart? Miyabi takes her time in reading over this post. She'd been sick again today, and though every part of her is saying not to respond or talk to anyone, she can't ignore this. She won't ignore this. Because Elicia is right. Why should the happiness she experienced end? Why shouldn't she keep calling these people family? She already did before, so...
But it's not the same.
Not entirely. Miyabi still wouldn't have a mother and father, the one thing that had made her so happy...and so sad at the same time. And those two, her 'mother and father' were the two people whom she already considered her family. Big brother and sister...should it end? Should she give that up, too? No...no, she doesn't want that. That's not fair. Just because of the Malnosso, why should she give up her happiness? It's not fair...not right of them to take that away from her - from everyone.]
Imot--...little sister. I never needed anyone to be related to me to be my family. Not here, not even back home. If you still want to,

[That's something she wanted to hear, more than anything.
Miyabi really still likes her-she didn't know you before the experiment, but you still like her! Like a sister. She could cry, if she were old enough to fully realize what heart is in such a concept... Perhaps because Elicia lives in an environment where heart is in such heavy supply.]
Of course I wanna! You're a cool big sister, Miya...!
We can play and make lunches together and paint lots, okay?

[Heh, a cool big sister? Miyabi can't bring herself to argue. Not just because she's tired and exhausted, but arguing with a child is just...not a good idea. So she just smiles quietly to the small compliment, and closes her eyes. She can remember painting the the small girl, those little hands holding the brush, paint clinging to plump fingers and...laughter.
Home... Just like home. Exactly like her village, and the children so eager and happy and care-free.]
[She's glad to hear that. That people agree with papa-because she knows he's right. He's never wrong about things like this (matters of the heart, he's good at picking up on).]
Mmm! We're all here, and we all work together and we're all helping everyone when they're happy or sad... So I think it's already kinda a big family...
[ .... it's really only just barely that Xion manages to pull herself together from the million little pieces these words threaten to shatter her into in order to respond.
She is not gracious or generous of spirit like her sisters, like her "mother." A lot of dark thoughts fill her mind about how she could never compare to them -- they being real.
But she can't deny she would really like this. After all, didn't she already ask Hughes about this herself?
Very quietly, and low, and even, so that she can keep the tears out of her voice ]
I'd love that, Elicia. You'll always be my little sister, now.
I promise I will. [ she's smiling now, at least. ] As much as you want me there, Elicia. I've always wanted a little sister, you know. [ well, a whole family. but a little sister will do, too. ]
Then it's a good thing! 'Cause now you got a little sister... There's lots of people who wanna be Xion's sister and brother! 'Cause she's a special person, who's nice and plays and gives the best hugs!

Your papa's right. Sometimes the best family is the family we choose.

Mmhm! I think friends and family are all really important. If we didn't make them here we'd get awful lonely!

It's just a little harder for some people, trying to get used to having two sets of memories. They'll come around.

[she frowns at that, because it's hard, seeing everyone so sad-
They unfortunately lack the rebounding abilities a child like herself has.]
... Will it get better again, Ms. Jilly? Will they all wanna be family still?
