My god, my icon!?!? YOUR ICON! Ah, Dr. H! The article blew up on LJ as well and it's just as bad. IT really hard to read through a lot of the comments. :/ It's scarey and disheartening.
And I don't mind, it's pretty boring really andI can't ever get it out in one sentence (I' sorry!). I'm working to determine the function of a sign a group of local Latina entrepenuers have been using. I'm claiming that the sign they're using establishes an identification, not just of their business as a cohesive unit/community but also with the concept of 'the corporation'. So basically, their sign is makeshift branding like big corproations use.
and the comments on there are what really get me! it's just a slew of misogynist comments. The only person who spoke a word of anything I fully agreed with was a commenter named Blue (comment 155 I think).

Reading that article - ugh, so depressing. :( It's awful how many people don't even realize they're being sexist and shitty.
What is your thesis on, if you don't mind me asking?

Wow, that sounds like a really interesting topic! So they're just a group of independent businesses banding together to build an identity, or what?
