Taking a few seconds just to say kljghlistfgruigfilghdsfhjezqsgduhfidsgfhdsjgfhjgbenbos THIS IS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED!! I feel like Rolland and Dalla, wanting for Davos to tell me more XD. How much did I love how Davos was all touched when Stannis told him about how he was thinking of wedding his own daughter to his son? BEAUTIFUL. Oh and Shireen I LOVE YOU <333. And Davos is fond of Rickon yes thank you <3

Ok going on part 2 now *grins like a fool*.

This is such a great story. I LOVE the beginning of this, because that's exactly the ending I want for Davos. (Even though Davos without Stannis shatters my heart into a thousand pieces.) Eeeeh, and Davos with his grandchildren. It also makes a really great frame for the story.

I love the similarities between a grown-up, confident Shireen and Stannis. Kingsguard!Devan just made me smile all happily. Stannis worrying about what will happen once he's dead, whether the realm will accept Shireen, is just heartbreaking.

“…and the King took heart from the counsel of his loyal Hand, and together they…” Davos caught himself then, marveling at how deeply he had immersed himself in memory, while the children looked up at him with wide-eyed, engrossed expressions.
“…prayed. They prayed together, yes.”
Renly style of prayer, huh? ^^

It's really great to see Davos as Hand, handling the affairs of the realm and his spies. And I like your Edric Dayne. ^^ Off to read part two now. :D
