"I ride best when I'm PISSED!"

Nov 10, 2005 16:33

Today was a pretty bad day, for no apparent reason at all. I didn't get much sleep last night because I stayed up to work on the APWC book review. Managed to get 7 pages off of The Stranger, which I was pretty happy with. Then physics this morning wasn't too good, although there was nothing really bad about it specifically. I'm pretty on and off ( Read more... )

Lots of stuff.
I'm doing Cat's Cradle too. I have also read: Mother Night, Slaughterhouse Five, Breakfast of Champions, and Slapstick. All are very good.

I'm in the second Africa group. The first one looks better.

I remember a certain anonymous senior from last year who was stoned pretty much all the time. Once, he tried taking a calc. test when he wasn't high, and did really bad on it. Then every time he was stoned, he got an A.
And they say pot makes you bad at math

I have been getting really nervous about Africa becuase I'm afraid that all these final plans will be made without me, more than my parents saying no...
But today Mr. Mooney talked to me, aand I still have time. I feel so relieved. Kinda.

FUN FACT: I just got a "free pepsi with the purchase of a pepsi at regular price" bottle cap. Neat.

I know, it's so totally exciting, right?!

I'm actually trying to cut down on my soda intake. I've been doing well. I guess the special bottle cap will end up being somebody's birthday present.

I'm sure it will work out. You'll definitely make money off of fundraising, and we have until December 19th until we have to give him our plane ticket money. Plus, if you aren't worried about your parents, it's probably a good sign.

That sucks about Goodwin. Don't feel too bad, though. Last year in HAL after someone made a comment, she asked this person whether he/she had actually read the book. It was pretty harsh. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is if she really hates you, you'll know it. It doesn't sound like she does. Anyway, don't feel bad about it. It's nothing personal, she just always has favorites, and it's really obvious.

I hope things get better with Dilks. I know it sucks when your grade's at risk (trust me, I KNOW), but he is a really good teacher. Not to mention a good bunny! I wonder what he'll think of the half-page pic of him as a bunny...

When we had to write that journal thing in class, when we were about halfway through The Awakening, on whether or not we had sympathy for Edna, Jeff Hanson asked, "Who's Edna?"
And he was serious.

That's just a little irrelevant anecdote, but I wouldn't worry about her class. She doesn't say any Indian names.

Hi, this is Ulfur looking thorough Wern's friends list. I am doing Cats Cradle as well, and I am very glad I have been able to read that book. I'm glad that we are encouraged to read in HAL. I also sort of share your views on Dilks. He teaches the class just enough that those who are geniuses or adept at physics will succeed. but he will take time to explain and talk to you so thats good.

Cat's Cradle was my top choice, but my request sheet was at the bottom of my class's pile. So by the time Mr. Webb got to me, ALL YOU MEANIES (Ulfer/Spencer/Anju/Brighton, except she's not here to defend herself) STOLE MY BOOK.

So now I'm reading This Side of Paradise.
*rolls eyes*

Yeah, I went in and talked to him today. I feel like he's pretty unapproachable, and ended up feeling stupid after I left, but maybe that's just me. It also bothers me that he openly favors the "smart" students, like you said, the ones who will get it the first time.
