Ha. I cringe every time I receive an "All Personnel" e-mail from NASA administrator Sean O'Keefe. He can't spell, his grammar is atrocious, and he's in the habit of referring to NASA researchers as "folks." He makes my teeth ache.

So, it turns out that it's apparently tradition to take a month or two after you pass the bar and see the world or something. The thinking behind it is three-fold

i find your commentary on bats to be weirdly reminiscient of my own, hard, meaty, masculine adventure in purchasing kitchen cutlery. i don't think i can weave the tale from memory as expertly as you have wrought yours, but i remember getting sweaty seeing this Ginsu-style instrument of steak destruction constructed of impacted Ytterbium with a diamond edge of the thickness of an atom, guaranteed until the death of my third born child.

i don't know what was funnier -- your description of the Z-Core, or the fact that the first thought through your head was this bat is expensive.

whatever -- you *are* going to regret not making that purchase. everyone needs a good bat. besides, you'll be able to talk about your bat with friends, which will allow you to say the word "bat" a lot. plus, it'd make an awesome weapon in Ultima XXVIII:
