We were gifted a family membership to Sam's Club, and it's due to expire next month. We finally got around to visiting them for the first time since picking up the membership card, and did some shopping. Yeah, also I don't think our sam's sold alcohol, like the ones in IL do, that would be a huge savings. They do sell beer and wine, but we don't drink that much (though I have been buying wine to cook with).

I do tend to buy meat in bulk, like a 5lb package and parcel it into 7 freezer bags, and I just bought 12lbs of chicken breasts to freeze. I might be more inclined to buy meat if we had a deep freeze because I have heard that will prevent food from getting freezer burnt? Also we are kind of wary of buying a ton of stuff to freeze because we did it a couple of times and immediately lost power and had to throw a ton of food out.

I find the cash (or debit) prices at Spec's Liquors to be as good as anything at Costco or Sams in Houston.
