We made 4 batches of ganache for truffles, ending up with 7 varieties of truffle base. Not to jinx it, but wow was that easy! We took a class that demonstrated making the ganache, but still, I have been reading so many horror stories that I was a little afraid to try. But it went awesome. Phil and I have made deals with almost everyone not to do any Christmas shopping this year. It sounds kind of horrible but with the big ones (parents, siblings) we're pretty much just exchanging gift cards at this point, and while it's kind of nice to have "free money" it feels kind of pointless. My flights are delayed! Awesome. Leaving Peoria at least 45 minutes late and Chicago about 2 hours late, meaning I'm coming in at 1am. PSYCHED.

Oh well can't wait to be home, it's fricking 30 degrees here or something.

I hate people who bring food to pot lucks or post pictures on the internet but won't give out their "secret" recipe. wtf is that about? It just seems like a chance to have some kind of power, so people will be like, omg this is sooooo good, can I have your recipe?? And they can be like, oh no sorry, it's my special secret!
