» Dear Livejournal,

I finally got myself a journal after thinking about it for a while. I talk to myself too much during the day, so in order to stop annoying myself with my own thoughts, I figured it'd be better to tell somebody else -- ie. a journal, lol ( Read more... )

let me write you a love letter, warning: actual content

I used to do that whole Dear Diary thing. When I was like, 9?
But people still do that. I think.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR JOURNAL-HAVING. :D

It's so cliche that I don't think I could ever write "Dear Diary." Besides, I call it my journal instead of a diary 'cause it sounds more mature xD *weird*

WHY THANK YOUS. I tried it a long time ago once, but just in a notebook, and it was so lame that I just gave up. So hopefully now that I have a legit journal, I can get into it more, espesh since I've been driving myself crazy lately XD I'm so annoying! hahaha

I haven't kept a written journal since I was a teenager but I did use the cliched "Dear Diary" when I did ;)

Mm, I always seem to do things 2 years later than everybody else, so it's not surprising that a week after I turn 20 is the first time I finally get a journal, lol. I think I'm just going to address it to whoever I feel like writing to at the time, and if it's just to the diary, then "Dear Journal" so it sounds less childish, if that makes any sense...

I still keep a written journal -- have since I was ... nine?

When I first started, it used to be "Dear Diary" (when I finished that book and got a new one, it was "Dear Journal"). At some point -- and this was when I was still into reading the Baby Sitter's Club books -- I started addressing the entries "Dear Stacey," "Dear Claudia," "Dear Mary Anne," depending on which member of the BSC I thought would most relate to/care about what I was writing (example, anything artsy happened during the day? Claudia! Was I really shy around a boy? Hi, Mary Anne!).

Now I just address them by numbers, none of the "dear" business, based on which number book I'm on.

Currently, it's book 28. And I use roman numerals, so every entry starts, "XXVIII:"

Yay journaling!

That's so cool, thanks so much for sharing. :) I love roman numerals, so I really like that that's what you use now. And wowee, 28 books is a lot! Keep on truckin'!

I haven't written anything in a few days since I went on vacation. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to catch up on it before I forget it all.
