To the Moon

Hey, I'm Wuvvums. I joined the other day and I thought I could post something and introduce myself. I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was a little kid and now I'm in college getting my MBA. I used to be on wrongplanet but it's been some time since I participated in the asperger's syndrome community ( Read more... )

I'm not a woman, and I don't share the particular interests you mention, but I used to think I'd be well-suited to keeping a lighthouse, if such a job still existed. Nowadays it's been so long since the job existed that I doubt anyone even entertains that thought as a passing fantasy anymore.

Welcome to the community!

Perhaps it's that lovely ocean view? In the game the lighthouse is meant to be symbolic. It wasn't just wanting to care for it as a job, but the girl pretty much identified with the lighthouse personally and didn't want the lighthouse to be "alone." I guess it's anthropomorphizing it. o:

And thank you. I look forward to more entries here. c:

Horse therapy. I can talk about that, as I'm both female AND have a horse who is, essentially, my therapist.

I recommend going to one of the places like Arise that has horses specifically for people with ASD - I've been around them all my life, so I don't get the intimidation factor thing, but I can understand some people may be after watching my overly-protective horse interact with people he doesn't like. XD

Yep, that's my boy in the icon.

It'll probably have to be a long-term plan as I don't have any money right now and I can't travel. After I get my master's and some stable job I think I would like to try that. Your horse is very pretty.

As an off topic my favorite large animal to see in person is the cow. I wonder if cows are pretty therapeutic too? I thought it was interesting to read about Temple Grandin and how she made a hug machine that worked really well on cows. o:

Me too, I haven't had a pet cat in some years but I was very good with cats and dogs.
